Had such an amazing experience at la perle dental. The entire appointment was genuinely pain‑free, which is something I never thought I’d say about a dental cleaning. Joanna was incredibly gentle, thorough, and attentive, consistently checking in to make sure I was comfortable. Her expertise and light touch turned what is usually an anxiety‑provoking experience into an easy and even pleasant one. Thanks to her skill and care, my teeth feel amazing and I left feeling relaxed and confident. If you’re looking for a hygienist who is knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly committed to patient comfort, Joanna is exceptional. I highly recommend her.

"I'm from out of town and when I called at the very end of the day, there was nothing available. Assistant put me on hold for a few minutes and told me that the dentist would have time for me the following morning. He was super sweet and very good at what he does. Plus he was happy and humming along with the music. Made me feel really comfortable. Thank you so much for that. I'll be back for sure!!"

Excellent patient care! Our son, 15 with autism, was treated with respect and patience. He did so well during this visit and the staff were so accommodating and kind. I think they were just as proud of him after his visit as we were! Neither of our kids fear the dentist in the slightest, and I think that says a lot.

Same-Day Relief When You Need It Most

When you're in serious dental pain, every hour matters. At La Perle Dental Centre, we reserve same-day appointments for patients in acute pain so you're not left waiting days for relief. We treat the problem at your visit, including root canals and extractions, so you leave feeling better than you arrived.

We Treat the Problem First

Our approach to emergency care is simple: get you out of pain as quickly as possible. We don't pile on a list of other recommendations while you're still hurting. The priority is relief. Everything else can come after.

No Referrals, No Runaround

Dr. Jain is a trained endodontist. That means complex root canals, the procedure most other general dentists refer out, are handled right here. You get the care you need in one visit, without being sent somewhere else and waiting even longer.

Transparent Costs, No Surprises

We know that fear of the bill can be just as stressful as the pain itself. Before we start any treatment, we walk you through what's involved, what it costs, and what your options are. We direct bill your insurance and offer in-house payment plans if there's a balance remaining.

We Accept Walk-Ins

You don't need to be an existing patient to receive emergency care at La Perle. New patients in pain are always welcome. If you're a CDCP recipient or don't have insurance, we'll talk through your options before we begin.

What Counts as a Dental Emergency

If you're experiencing any of the following, call us right away:

  • Severe or persistent tooth pain
  • Swelling in the jaw, gums, or face
  • A tooth that has been knocked out or dislodged
  • A cracked, chipped, or broken tooth
  • A lost filling or crown
  • An abscess or signs of infection
  • Bleeding that won't stop
  • Pain or difficulty opening or closing your jaw

When in doubt, call. It's always better to have it checked.

What We're Trying to Prevent

A dental emergency that gets ignored rarely resolves on its own. Without treatment, the situation almost always gets worse, more painful, and more expensive.

Here is what delayed emergency care can lead to:

  • A tooth infection that spreads to surrounding teeth, the jaw, or in serious cases, the bloodstream
  • A tooth that could have been saved with a root canal requiring full extraction instead
  • An abscess that requires more invasive treatment the longer it goes untreated
  • Bone loss around a damaged or infected tooth that affects surrounding teeth
  • A cracked tooth that becomes unsaveable if left to fracture further

We've seen patients wait weeks to come in because they were afraid of the bill, only to face a much larger one because the problem had time to worsen. The sooner you call, the more we can do and the less it typically costs.

What to Expect at an Emergency Visit

We know walking into a dental office in pain can feel overwhelming. Here is exactly what happens from the moment you call.

When you call, we will ask a few quick questions to understand what you're experiencing and book you in as soon as possible, often the same day.

When you arrive:

  • We take X-rays and assess the situation right away so we know exactly what we're dealing with
  • We explain what's happening in plain language, including what caused it and what the options are
  • We walk you through the cost and any insurance coverage before treatment begins
  • We provide local anaesthesia and, if needed, discuss sedation options to keep you comfortable
  • We treat the problem the same day wherever possible so you leave out of pain

After your visit, we give you clear aftercare instructions and let you know if any follow-up is needed. If you came in as a new patient, we'll also talk about what routine care might help prevent the same problem from happening again.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I'm afraid of the dentist?

We hear this often and we take it seriously. Let us know when you call that you're anxious. Our team is trained to work at your pace, explain everything before it happens, and make the experience as comfortable as possible. Oral sedation is also available for patients who need additional support.

Can children be seen for dental emergencies?

Yes. We see patients of all ages for emergency care, including young children. If your child is in pain or has had a dental injury, call us right away.

What's the difference between a dental emergency and something that can wait?

If you're in severe pain, have visible swelling, have lost a tooth, or suspect an infection, that's an emergency. If you have mild sensitivity, a minor chip with no pain, or a cosmetic concern, it can likely wait for a scheduled appointment. If you're unsure, call us and we'll help you decide.

Do I need to be an existing patient to come in for an emergency?

No. We welcome new patients for emergency care. Call us, let us know what's happening, and we'll get you in as quickly as possible.

How much does emergency dental care cost?

The cost depends on what treatment is needed. We always review fees with you before starting any procedure. We direct bill your insurance and offer flexible in-house payment plans if there's a remaining balance. You won't be surprised by a bill after the fact.

What if I lose a filling or crown?

A lost filling or crown isn't always painful right away, but the exposed tooth is vulnerable to further damage and sensitivity. Call us as soon as possible and avoid chewing on that side in the meantime.

Can you do a root canal the same day?

Yes. Dr. Jain is a trained endodontist and same-day root canal treatment is available for patients in acute pain. In many cases, we can diagnose and complete the procedure in a single visit.

What if I have swelling in my face or jaw?

Facial swelling can indicate a dental abscess, which is an infection that can spread if left untreated. Call us right away. If swelling is severe or is affecting your ability to breathe or swallow, go to the nearest emergency room immediately.

Is a toothache always a dental emergency?

Not always, but persistent or severe tooth pain is always worth a call. Pain that keeps you up at night, pain that spreads to your jaw or ear, or pain accompanied by swelling are all signs that something needs to be treated promptly.

What should I do if a tooth gets knocked out?

Pick it up by the crown, not the root. Rinse it gently with water without scrubbing. If possible, place it back in the socket or keep it in a small container of milk to preserve it. Call us immediately. Time is critical. The sooner you get in, the better the chances of saving the tooth.
