Had such an amazing experience at la perle dental. The entire appointment was genuinely pain‑free, which is something I never thought I’d say about a dental cleaning. Joanna was incredibly gentle, thorough, and attentive, consistently checking in to make sure I was comfortable. Her expertise and light touch turned what is usually an anxiety‑provoking experience into an easy and even pleasant one. Thanks to her skill and care, my teeth feel amazing and I left feeling relaxed and confident. The Same Result, None of the Hardware

Clear aligners do the same job as traditional braces, gradually shifting your teeth into the right position, without the wires, the brackets, or the monthly tightening appointments. At La Perle Dental Centre, we offer both Invisalign and ClearCorrect. We'll assess your teeth, tell you which system makes sense for your case, and give you a clear picture of the cost before you decide anything.

Nobody Has to Know You're Wearing Them

The trays are transparent and sit flush against your teeth. Most people won't notice them at all, which matters if you're in meetings, photos, or just don't want your orthodontic treatment to be the first thing people see.

Take Them Out When You Need To

Aligners are removable. You eat normally, brush and floss without any extra steps, and take the trays out for occasions where it matters. You put them back in when you're done. That's it. The only rule is wearing them for 20 to 22 hours a day.

Affordable, In-House, No Referrals

We handle aligner treatment from consultation to completion right here at La Perle. No referrals to a separate orthodontic office, no outside pricing. Fees are below the Alberta fee guide and flexible payment plans are available so the cost is manageable month to month.

Invisalign and ClearCorrect: What's the Difference?

Both systems work the same way. A series of custom-made clear trays gradually moves your teeth into position. The difference is mostly cost and complexity:
Invisalign has been around the longest and works well for a wide range of cases, including more complex ones
ClearCorrect produces excellent results for mild to moderate alignment concerns and is often more affordable
Both are discreet, removable, and comfortable to wear
We don't push one over the other. We'll recommend whichever gives you the best result for the best price. If neither is right for your case, we'll tell you that too.

Is Clear Aligner Treatment Right for You

Aligners work well for many common alignment concerns:

  • Crowded or overlapping teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Overbite, underbite, or crossbite
  • Open bite
  • Teeth that have shifted after previous orthodontic treatment

More complex bite or jaw issues may need a different approach. We'll give you an honest assessment at your consultation. If aligners won't get you the result you're after, we won't recommend them.

What Happens If Misalignment Goes Uncorrected

Crooked or misaligned teeth aren't just a cosmetic concern. Left untreated, the consequences compound over time:

  • Crowded or crooked teeth are harder to clean, increasing the risk of cavities and gum disease
  • An uneven bite causes excessive wear on specific teeth, leading to chips, cracks, and sensitivity
  • Jaw pain, headaches, and TMJ problems can develop over time from a bite that's out of alignment
  • Misalignment tends to worsen with age, so earlier treatment is almost always easier and less costly
  • Ongoing wear may eventually require crowns, implants, or other restorations that could have been avoided

The alignment issues we see today don't stay where they are. We'll show you exactly what's happening and let you decide with the full picture in front of you.

What You Need to Know Before You Start

Aligner treatment works when you wear them consistently. That's the whole thing. Here's what to expect going in:

  • Aligners need to be worn 20 to 22 hours per day. Less than that and the teeth won't track properly
  • Each tray is typically worn for one to two weeks before switching to the next
  • You'll come in for check-ins every six to eight weeks so we can monitor your progress and make any refinements
  • Some mild pressure when switching to a new tray is normal and settles within a day or two
  • Treatment time varies. Minor corrections can take a few months. More involved cases typically take 12 to 18 months
  • A retainer after treatment is essential. Without it, teeth will gradually shift back

What to do:

  • Wear trays 20 to 22 hours per day, every day
  • Remove trays only to eat, drink anything other than water, and brush
  • Brush and floss before reinserting your trays
  • Keep all scheduled check-up appointments
  • Store trays in their case when not wearing them

What to avoid:

  • Drinking coffee, tea, or coloured drinks with trays in
  • Eating with trays in — this damages them
  • Skipping wear for days at a time
  • Cleaning trays with hot water — it warps the plastic
  • Smoking with trays in — it causes staining

If you're prepared to wear them as directed, aligners are a highly effective, low-disruption way to straighten your teeth.

What to Expect When You Choose Clear Aligners

Step 1

Consultation & Scan

We take digital impressions or a 3D scan of your teeth and create a treatment simulation so you can see your projected final result before committing to anything. We recommend a system, explain the timeline, and lay out the cost clearly before you decide.

Step 2

Your Custom Trays

Your aligners are fabricated from precise digital scans. Each tray in the series is slightly different, moving your teeth a small amount at a time. Before treatment begins, you'll see exactly what you're working toward.

Step 3

Wearing Your Aligners & Check-Ins

You'll receive your first set of trays with clear instructions. You switch to the next tray at home every one to two weeks. You'll come in every six to eight weeks so we can confirm your teeth are tracking with the plan and make any adjustments needed. These visits are brief.

Step 4

Retention

Once treatment is complete, you'll wear a retainer nightly to hold your results in place. Teeth move naturally over time and the retainer is what keeps them where they belong. We'll walk you through how and when to wear it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I'm a good candidate?

Come in for a consultation and we'll tell you. If aligners are the right fit, we'll explain why and walk you through the plan. If they're not, we'll say so and talk about what other options make sense for your situation.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the complexity of your case and which system is recommended. We go over costs in full at your consultation before you commit. We direct bill your insurance where applicable and offer in-house payment plans for any remaining balance.

Do I need a retainer after?

Yes, and this part matters. Without a retainer, teeth gradually drift back over time. Most patients wear a retainer nightly long-term. It's a small habit that protects everything you've worked for.

How often do I need to come in during treatment?

Every six to eight weeks for a brief check-in so we can confirm your teeth are tracking with the plan and make any refinements needed.

Are they as effective as braces?

For most alignment concerns, yes. For more complex bite issues involving significant jaw movement, traditional braces or other treatment may be more appropriate. We'll tell you honestly whether aligners will get you where you want to go.

What's the difference between Invisalign and ClearCorrect?

Both work well. Invisalign has a longer track record and handles more complex cases. ClearCorrect is effective for mild to moderate alignment and is often the more affordable option. We'll recommend the right one based on your case, not on which costs more.

Can I drink coffee or tea with them in?

No. Coloured drinks stain the trays and can also trap liquid against your teeth for extended periods, which increases the risk of decay. Remove your aligners for anything other than plain water.

Can I eat whatever I want?

Yes. Because you remove the aligners to eat, there are no food restrictions. Just brush before putting them back in.

How many hours a day do I need to wear them?

20 to 22 hours. That's the requirement for treatment to stay on schedule. Remove them for meals, drinks other than water, and brushing. Put them back in after. Inconsistent wear is the most common reason treatment runs longer than expected.

Do they hurt?

Most patients feel mild pressure for a day or two when switching to a new tray. It's a sign the trays are working. It settles quickly and is nothing like the discomfort some people experience with traditional braces.

How long does treatment take?

It depends on your case. Minor corrections can take three to six months. More complex cases usually take 12 to 18 months. We'll give you a realistic estimate at your consultation, not a best-case-scenario number.

How do clear aligners work?

Each tray is slightly different from the last, applying gentle pressure to move the teeth a small amount. You work through the series from start to finish, and each tray gets you closer to the final result.
